New tattoos and sketches; Shop re-do
06.30.08
I've added a bunch more Tattoos to the site, many of which were also recently added to the Oshkosh Tattoo website. Have a look, and come see me for some ink!

Unfortunately, I haven't had much opportunity to get a lot of painting or finished art done in the past six months. You know how it is, real life keeps intervening. Pesky real life! However, that doesn't mean that my pencil's stopped moving. Far from it! To prove it, I've mostly redone the Sketches section on the Art page. I removed some old ones and put up nearly a dozen new doodles. Some of them will become paintings, some are just cerebral spew, and they vary in completeness and quality. Anyway, enjoy them.

You'll also see that the Shop page has undergone a minor revamp as well. The layout now matches the rest of the site (although I haven't come up with a side image/header yet, but that'll be soon), and there are now links to both the Krush-O-Mart and Remedy White, both of which are places where you can buy my stuff. I'm planning to add more links eventually, as there are a other projects in the woks as well as a few things you can order directly from me.

Finally, some good news: Krushervision Art Industries will be physically relocating! (read: I'm moving and I'll finally have room for a dedicated art studio in my new place.) I am looking forward to being more productive and efficient. Yay progress!

Knockout! art added

Just added eight paintings from the Knockout! collection to the Art department, right at the top under the Pin-Ups section. Go see what you missed, or enjoy it again!

Knockout! ending this week; Dirty Show 9;
Remedy White; OshTat dot com

02.11.08
So Knockout! has just the rest of this week to go and all indications...um...indicate...that it was a big hit. The opening reception was a blast, with a big crowd (according to Wild Apple Gallery owner Mary Jo Weidert, twice as many in attendance as the gallery usually sees, and also, apparently, the best-dressed -- I got sexy friends! Pics soon!) and some great buzz. Lots of good press helped keep the show busy throughout its run. Scanner's on the fritz right now, but once I get it dialed, I'll put up the articles and blurbs from the Appleton Post-Crescent (actually you can also read it online HERE), Deluxe 920 Magazine, Women Magazine, and whatever else I can scrounge up. Apparently the P-C article may have run in the Oshkosh Northwestern and Green Bay Press-Gazette as well -- if anyone has copies of those, please let me know. There were also listings for it on needled.com and some other sites. I even sold some work! The pieces that were on display will probably be put up here on K-vision sometime next week. Thanks to all who made the show a success, and hopefully Wild Apple will have me back again next year.

So, what's next? Well this week, I've got a piece in Dirty Show 9. This is the second time I've been lucky enough to get some work into Detroit's biggest art event. This year's entry is dirtier than last year's too, so you won't see it on the site -- unless you beg me for the secret link...! ahem. This year's guest artist list is star-studded too, with work from the likes of HR Giger, Hajime Sorayama, Bunny Yeager, and tons more. Cool!

Also, I can now start pushing those huge giclee prints I've been talking about for two years! Remedy White is now live and taking orders for oversized prints of mid-century-modern-inspired art from a slew of great artists...and me too. The prints are phenomenal quality and are limited edition, so order while you can! More of my art will be added to RW's catalog over time, including some of the pieces from Knockout!, so keep an eye on it. So, this means that my Shop link is going to undergo a bit of change, as it will serve as a hub for the now multiple places you can purchase my stuff. Look for that change momentarily.

Finally, Oshkosh Tattoo, the shop I have been gleefully slinging ink out of since the end of August '07, now has a website up and running at www.oshkoshtattoo.com, of course. Go have a look, and then call the shop to schedule your next tattoo appointment! (Speaking of, I just put a few new tattoo pics in the Tattoos page here as well.)

Knockout! opens today!
01.03.08
All the work is done and I finally can sit back and relax.

Knockout!: Pin-Up Girl Art by TJ Rappel opens today at Wild Apple Gallery, 210 Main St., Menasha, WI, and runs through February 17. The opening reception is on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 6-9 pm. If you're planning on showing up to the reception, you don't HAVE to get all dressed up, but it'd be really cool if everyone did!

I have very little to say about it anymore because I've been thinking about it for the past four months, so all I ask is that you go check it out if you can. There are a couple nice articles about it in Deluxe 920 Magazine and the Appleton Post-Crescent which I will scan and post here sometime soon. Also, all my new work from the show will be available for viewing here on Krushervision sometime after the reception -- or I might even wait until the show is over so that the only way you can see it for now is in person! ;)

Thanks to all my friends and family for your support, and your patience while I became a recluse by spending all my free time painting at home; and super big thanks to Christina -- my most devoted supporter, my sweetie, and my muse.

Now go check out some cartoon boobies!!

Solo Show Coming Up; Refocusing Krushervision

Knockout! Pinup art by TJ Rappel

More details will be forthcoming. I hope everyone can make it out.

As you may have noticed, the links to your right have changed a bit. I've made the decision to scale back my pursuit of graphic design and web design as creative avenues and focus on my art and tattooing. Drawing, painting, and tattooing are the things I really love to do, and while I do enjoy the art of graphic design and I do like coming up with interesting websites, I never really got where I wanted to with either of those endeavors.

Therefore, the Graphic Design and Webworks links have been removed, and I have added a whole new page of Tattoos! Also, the Art page has been reorganized a bit so that you can jump directly to pinup girls, monsters, or miscellaneous stuff.

Lastly, don't forget that the Shop page still directs you to the Krush-O-Mart, where you can get all the t-shirts and posters and other swag sporting my work. However, in the (hopefully) near future, the Shop page will actually contain a number of links to other outlets for Krushervision stuff. Stay tuned for details. Meanwhile, enjoy the newly-refocused Krushervision (still presented in the miracle of Krush-O-Scope)!

New Art: Phone Girls!
06.25.07
Petty did 'em. Vargas did 'em. Elvgren did 'em. Though I barely consider myself so much as a pimple on the asses of any of those legendary pinup artists, I too have succumbed to the siren song of the phone girl. Check out the two new Phone Girl paintings over in Art!

Also, I put up my new Blatantly Indulgent Self-Portrait. Enjoy that, then.

2 New Gamer T-shirts
06.17.07
Two new t-shirt designs are available now in the Gamer Gear section at the Krush-O-Mart! The first is a tribute to the Atari classic Adventure, and is titled Ye Valiant Warrior, showing the mighty Square and his bloodthirsty blade! Then we have Element Hu, depicting that most wafer-thin of videogame formats, the PC Engine HuCard, with a "periodic table"-style label reading -- what else -- "Hu!"

Get 'em now on lots of different apparel, stickers, and other swag, only at the Krush-O-Mart.

Order your JBP Exotic World T-shirt!
06.02.07
If you hadn't noticed, I won the Exotic World t-shirt contest over at Java's Bachelor Pad! Yay! Thanks to all who voted!

But now of course, the important thing is that you order yerself a tee-shirt! Head over to Java's site for ordering information. Please note that the shirts are limited edition and they are selling fast -- there are only sizes L and XL remaining -- so go do it now! Only 10 bucks plus $2 for shipping ($4 outside the U.S.). And remember, all proceeds from the shirt sales go to the Exotic World Burlesque Museum.

I do have a very small quantity of the t-shirts available for sale as well for the same price, and I happen to have a couple of sizes S and M (hee hee) in addition to a few L's and XL's. I paid full price for them, so rest assured that by buying one from me you are still donating to Exotic World! Contact me to order!

JBP Exotic World T-shirt Contest
04.14.07
Attention Krushophiles, it's time to vote! I'm entering this year's Exotic World t-shirt contest over at Java's Bachelor Pad Cheesecake Group on Yahoo and I need your help!

My design is as shown to the right, here. The winner gets his/her design printed up on t-shirts which are sold, seen on lots of hot pinup models and burlesque performers, and the proceeds of which all go to the Exotic World Burlesque Museum!

Just head over to the JBP Cheesecake group and sign up if you're not a member. (You need to be registered on Yahoo, so if you are not already, it only takes a few seconds to do so.) It's a great group to keep an eye on too, because it's a major hub of activity in the pinup/burlesque scene! Here, I'll even make it easy for you to join:

Once you're signed up, click on the Photos link, and the Exotic World T-shirt Art folder therein, to check out all the entrants. Then, beginning on Monday, April 16, you can click on the Polls link and vote for your favorite design -- and I hope it's mine! I appreciate your support!

In other news, it sounds like Dirty Show 8 was a smash hit again. Not only that, but Burlie-Q #1 sold! I'd love to know who bought it, so if you're reading, drop me a line. Also, keep an eye on the Dirty Show website for photos from the show.

My paintings for the Ooh La La! burlesque art exhibit in Nottingham are finished and on their way to merry olde England. I hope they arrive safely. I will have photos of those paintings posted here eventually, although I might wait until after the exhibit so they can be seen there first.
